About Me

I have been a counselor in private practice since 2013. Before that I was a counseling intern at a local free health clinic for about a year and a half where I worked with individuals and groups. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University. I do therapy from a cognitive perspective and work with clients to help them modify their negative and unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors. I have experience with individuals and groups on a range of issues: depression, suicidal thoughts, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar, drug/alcohol addiction, family boundaries, low self-esteem or self-confidence, and life transitions. I am also an EMDR trained clinician.

More personally, I have two elementary age twin daughters. I grew up in Oklahoma, but moved to Kansas City about 20 years ago. I’m a musician: I play guitar, piano/keyboards, and sing. I play in a few bands around town. Before becoming a counselor I was a computer programmer for about 10 years.
