About Me

I’m Chuck Whittington. I have been a counselor in private practice since 2013. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University. I do therapy from a cognitive perspective and work with clients to help them change their negative and unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors. I love to work with all kinds of people dealing with all kinds of issues: drug/alcohol addiction, depression, suicidal thoughts, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, family boundaries, low self-esteem/self-confidence, and life transitions. I am also an EMDR trained clinician.

I have twin daughters in middle school. I grew up in Oklahoma, but moved to Kansas City about 25 years ago. I’m a musician: I play guitar, piano/keyboards, and sing. I play in a few bands around town. Before becoming a counselor I was a computer programmer for about 10 years.
